The Catholic Diocese of Otukpo in Benue State, North-Central Nigeria has confirmed the abduction of Reverend Father Peter Amodu.
A statement by the Diocesan Chancellor, Joseph Idoko said the priest was kidnapped on Wednesday along the Ukwungaga-Otukpo Road while on his way to celebrate the Holy Mass at Okwungaga-Ugbokolo area of the State.

Idoko has called on Christian faithful in the Diocese and beyond to pray earnestly for his quick and safe release as they intensify efforts to ensure his regains his freedom.
Reverend Peter Amodu was ordained parish priest in 2012 by the Catholic Bishop of Otukpo Diocese, His Lordship, Rt. Reverend Dr. Michael Apochi.
