Late deployment of field workers and distribution of materials to Enumeration Areas caused serious setbacks in the Building numbering and Household listing exercise in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, North-Central Nigeria.
Karu is one of the six local government areas selected from the six geo-political zones for full testing of the census processes ahead of the 2023 National population and Housing Census.
The exercise in Karu local Government Area was scheduled to begin at 8am on Wednesday but as at 1pm field workers and sensitive materials for the had not arrived the enumeration areas.

The State Coordinator for the trial census said the delay was caused by the late deployment of the personnel and materials.
Karu is one of the 45 Enumeration Areas in nine local government areas across three senatorial districts of the 36 and the FCT where the trial exercise is to hold in Nigeria. The 2022 trial census is expected to end on July 30.
