The Labour Party has polled only 2, 729 votes at the just concluded Osun governorship election. Its candidate was Yusuf Lasun, a former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives
The party’s leaders and its presidential candidate Peter Obi had visited the state before the election to mobilize supporters at a mega rally

But the numbers did not translate to votes for the party with over 400, 000 vote gap between the winning candidate and the Labour Party candidate
Other political parties which floored the Labour Party include the APC, Accord, African Action Congress and the Action Democratic Congress.
