Nigerian actress Caroline Danjuma has been chosen by the the African Action Congress (AAC) in Akwa Ibom State as the running mate to its governorship candidate Iboro Otu, in next year’s governorship election.
The party in a statement Iboro Otu chose Caroline Danjuma based on her exemplary life, love for humanity, leadership ability and commitment towards the betterment of Akwa Ibom and the nation at large.
The Eket born actress made her acceptance known also via Instagram.
She said: “To serve and to honor in loyalty and in truth to Akwa Ibom and Nigeria . So help me God.”
Caroline Danjuma becomes the third female actress and the fourth Nollywood actor in the race for political office after Femi Branch was picked as the deputy governorship candidate of the National Rescue Movement (NRM) in Ogun state, Funke Akindele of the People’s Democratic Party PDP in Lagos State and Tonto Dikeh of the African Democratic Congress(ADC) in Rivers State.
