Edo State Government has denounced a phantom social group, Coalition of Benin Social Cultural Organizations, noting that displaced politicians are hiding behind the group to spread lies against the State Government.
This was conveyed in a statement signed by the Special Adviser, Media Projects, Crusoe Osagie, who noted that the Coalition of Benin Social Cultural Organisations is not known to law by any means.
According to him, as reputable organisations, the media should know the difference between empty allegations from a group of politicians displaced by the new brand of politics promoted by Governor Godwin Obaseki and real criticism meant to promote good governance.
The Special Adviser says the long list of empty allegations made by the group are the tired lies employed unsuccessfully by the Edo Peoples Movement, EPM, and the comatose All Progressives Congress, APC, in the State just before the September 19, 2020 elections, which the people saw for what they actually are “cheap blackmail”.

Crusoe Osagie added that the only thing new about these lies and those who promote them is that they have incorporated a few more recently displaced individuals who for their personal and pecuniary interests recently tried to destabilise the harmony within the PDP in Edo State but failed miserably.
Osagie emphasised that the allegations have no iota of truth in them and thus should be ignored.
The said coalition had accused the Governor Godwin Obaseki led administration of been unfaithful in managing the resources including federal allocations and international donor funds to the State as well as Internally Generated Revenue, IGR, over the past five years in the State among other things.
