Nigerian activist and Lawyer, Inibehe Effiong has been sentenced to one month in a correctional facility by Akwa Ibom state Chief Judge, Ekaette Obot for contempt of court.
According to reports Justice Obot gave the order after accusing Effiong of repeatedly using abusive language in court. Effiong is the defence counsel to Leo Ekpenyong in the libel suit filed by Governor Udom Emmanuel against him for alleging that Governor Emmanuel bribed judges in the election petition case arising from the 2019 Akwa Ibom state governorship election.
