A college lecturer and 10 other persons have recently been kidnapped by Boko Haram terrorists.
This was made known in a video shared by their abductors which had gone viral on social media. The abducted asked the Nigerian government to come to their rescue.
The victims are mostly Christians from Yobe State. They also called on the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, to help secure their freedom.
In the one minute and 29 seconds short video, one of the victims, Bitrus Bwala, who identified himself as a principal lecturer at the College of Education Gashua, in Yobe State, spoke on behalf of other victims and noted that he was abducted on his way to his station on November 27 when the incident occurred
Bwala said that they witnessed the recent killing of the humanitarian aid workers
In the latest video, the kidnap victim said the lives of he and the other captives were not safe because all 11 of them are Christians.
He also said Leah Sharibu, one of the scores of schoolgirls kidnapped in Dapchi, Yobe State, was still with the abductors.
As at the time of filing this report, efforts to reach the Nigerian Army to react to the matter proved abortive.
