Terrorists kill six people in fresh attack on Wase LGA of Plateau State

No fewer than six people were reportedly killed in in another attack by terrorists on Pinau village in Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State, North-Central Nigeria.

AIT.live gathered, that the latest attack occured around 5am on Thursday while some of the villagers were still sleeping.

The incident is coming five days after residents of the community raised alarm over withdrawal of soldiers from the area , a development that forced hundreds of them to flee their homes to Wase, the headquarters of the local government.

One of the residents, Yakubu Bako told AIT.live that the terrorists arrived the community around 4am, and began shooting sporadically, adding that many were injured during the attack while the attackers carted away food items.

When contacted, spokesperson for the Special Task Force Operation Safe Haven in Plateau State, Major Ishaku Takwa confirmed the incident and said soldiers have been deployed to the area.

Wase is the home town of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Idris Wase, that has come under series of attacks in recent times with many people killed and properties worth millions of Naira destroyed as villagers continue to flee their communities to places they consider safer.
