Supreme Court Justice tells Nigerians not to vote looters in 2023 elections

A serving Nigerian Supreme Court Justice, and former Chief Justice of The Gambia, Justice Emmanuel Akomaye Agim, has urged Nigerians not to vote for politicians who will loot the country’s treasury if elected into office as the country prepares for another round of elections .

Justice Akomaye gave the advise in Calabar using the platform of a thanksgiving and reception organised in his honour by the people of Obanliku and Obudu Local Government Areas of Cross River State, South-South Nigeria to speak his mind on bad governance in Nigeria.

The Cross River State-born justice said Nigerians should either use the 2023 election to vote good leadership or stop complaining of money stolen from the treasury.

He called on the citizens to pray for a better Nigeria, assuring that the Judiciary will always be the last hope of the common man.

Cross River Governor, Ben Ayade and former Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Kanu Agabi SAN who spoke at the event commended Justice Akomaye on his achievements in the judiciary sector of Nigeria.

The event which had in attendance the Chief Justice of Nigeria and other Justices was preceded by a thanksgiving mass at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Ikot Ansa in Calabar, the state capital.
