The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS has called on Nigerians not to take seriously comments credited to the Minister of state for Labour, Festus Keyamo on the protracted strike by Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU.

Keyamo had told ait.live that parents should appeal to the lecturers to call off ongoing strike and that the government of President Muhammadu Buhari cannot not borrow N1.2 trillion to pay lecturers salaries.

NANS vice president, Odiahi Thomas, at a briefing in Abuja on Monday, reveals plans of several meetings this week with both ministers of Education and labour to find lasting solutions to the overstretched strike

Meanwhile, in its reaction to the comments By Festus Keyamo, ASUU in a statement argues that the Federal Government is only using delayed tactics to keep students at home unnecessarily.
