A massive protest has rocked, Umuahia, the Abia State capital, South East Nigeria over the continued holding of a medical doctor, Uwadinachi Iweha by his abductors.
The victim was kidnapped at gun point on Sunday, 5th June, 2022 and till date, his whereabout remains unknown.
Women of Umuopara community in Umuahia South LGA, Tuesday staged a peaceful protest calling for the immediate release of their son.

Iweha, a provost of the College of Medicine at a private University in the State, was kidnapped around his house in Umuopara, and nine weeks after nothing has been heard from him or his abductors.
The Abia State Government had promised to offer a 5million Naira reward for any information leading to the release of the medical doctor.
The women from the 14 autonomous communities in Umuopara, mostly aged, said the people have been living in fears because of the high rate of insecurity especially kidnapping in the state and called on the government to ensure the release of their son.
Recall that the members of the Abia state branch of the Nigerian Medical Association, had held several protests against the incident.
They had also gone on a warning strike to press home their demand for the release of their colleague from his abductors.
