The Federal Government restates its determination on timely completion of ongoing road infrastructure in all parts of the country.

Minister of State for Works and Housing, Umar El-Yakub stated this during an inspection visit to the completed Phase I and II of the National Housing Project and some ongoing road infrastructure in Kano State, North-West Nigeria.

Contract for reconstruction of the 83.52-kilometre Kano-Gwarzo-Dayi dual carriage way by the Federal Government at the cost of N62.7 billion is aimed at easing transportation within the area and enhancing easy movement of farm products from rural areas to the market.

El-Yakub said the Federal Government is committed to ensuring that the project is completed within the stipulated time frame.

The Minister also expressed satisfaction with the quality and level of construction work. He said the Ministry will address issues of compensation faced by the contractors.
