Bayelsa Police Parade 5 Suspected oil pipeline vandals

BAYELSA

The Bayelsa State Police Command has paraded five suspects arrested in connection with the vandalization of a crude oil trunkline at Etiama, Nembe Local Government Area of Bayelsa State in July.

Parading the suspects at the Command headquarters in Yenagoa, Police Commissioner, Benjamin Okolo, represented by the Public Relations Officer, Asinim Buswat said the same suspects were also responsible for the blowing up of a pipeline carrying crude oil to the Brass Terminal along Obama Tekere River on the 11th of August, 2022.

One of the suspects, Sutomwa Martin however denied involvement in both incidents.

Okolo who emphasized the readiness of the command to collaborate with sister agencies and community leaders said the suspects would be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations.
