Nigeria will need the collaborative efforts between her military and other research based institutions to directly meet the country’s national defence requirements.
Commandant of the Nigerian Defence Academy, Major General Ibrahim Yusuf, said this during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the academy and the Nigeria Maritime University on Monday in Kaduna, north west Nigeria.
It is against this background that the Nigerian Defence Academy is collaborating with the Nigeria Maritime University to build synergy that will help in safeguarding the Nigerian space.
The commandant of the NDA believes that the synergy will enable other institutions to collaborate effectively in areas of research and capacity building in the maritime space, particularly within the Gulf of Guinea.
The parties believe that through the collaborative research, both institutions will be able to come up with outcomes that will be beneficial to securing Nigeria.
