Police in Zamfara State have rescued twelve kidnap victims, including a 5-month-old baby girl, after one month in captivity.

A statement by the Police Command Public Relations Officer, Superintendent Mohammed Shehu, said Police Tactical Operatives attached to 42 PMF Squadron, Gusau while on joint operations with the vigilantes near Dajin Kare Kukanka forest acted on an intelligence report which led to the rescue of the twelve hostages, including the 5-month-old baby girl from Rungawa Village, in Talata Mafara Local Government Area of the State.

The police said the victims who were rescued unhurt were abducted by the terrorists and taken to Kare Kukanka Forest, a notorious bandits leader’s camp popularly known as “Bello Maibille,” where they spent one month in captivity.
