Troops of Operation Forest Sanity have killed an unspecified number of bandits and dislodged camps during clearance operations across some hard-to-reach locations, spanning Chikun and Igabi Local Government Areas of Kaduna State
A statement from the office of the Kaduna State Internal Security and Home Affairs states that the troops neutralized an unspecified number of bandits while clearing out insurgent and bandit camps at Apewohe in Chikun LGA.
The operation, the statement said, also extended to Dakwala and Kunai Hills in the same LGA, where several hideouts were cleared, though no contact was made with the bandits.
Similarly, another camp was dislodged by the troops at Daban Lawal Kwalba, in Igabi LGA, after they overpowered heavily armed bandits guarding hostages.
The troops after clearing out the bandits stormed the hideouts and rescued ten kidnapped persons who were chained and bound with ropes.
According to the statement, a camp was cleared at Rafin Gwaska, Igabi LGA, where several arms and ammunition were recovered.
