The incident was said to have occurred Wednesday evening, at about 6:30 pm, when the suspected terrorists invaded the community on foot with sophisticated weapons and started shooting sporadically, while everyone scampered to safety.
The locals say the terrorists abducted an unspecified number of residents.
This is the first time they would witness an attack in the community.
They also say the suspected terrorists numbered about 50.
The two boats which capsized in the Zuma River were packed full of people, who were finding escape routes before they eventually capsized with the entire passengers on board.
