Members of staff of the College of Education, Ilesa in Osun state, have staged a protest over what they called insincerity by the state government on the conversion of the college of Education to a full fledged unversity.
The protesting staff under the umbrella of College of Education Academic Staff Union, COEASU is accusing the implementation committee of secrecy in the modalities adopted for the conversion process.

The protesting lecturers chatting solidarity songs, were armed with placards with different inscriptions to press home their demands.
The National President, COEASU, Smart Odunayo says the union is Challenging the proposed Public-private partnership arrangement included in the newly established University of Ilesa law.
He noted that implementation exercise by the committee constituted by the state government was poorly handled noting also that it will jeopardize the objective of the intended conversion
They however, appealed to the government and the Implementation Committee of the proposed university to prioritize the genuine involvement of the critical stakeholders who will make the conversion possible.
