The Nasarawa State Government has commenced disbursement of over N218 million to over 8,000 indigenous students studying in various tertiary institutions within and outside the state.
Governor Sule said this in Akwanga local government during the flag off of the 2021/2022 Bursary disbursement of allowances to students in the state
The scholarship allowances to students according to governor Sule is towards ensuring that children from Nasarawa state especially the less privileged ones are assisted to further their education.
He explained that the disbursement would be done in two phases, at various centres across the state.
Sule informed the students that he has reviewed the bursary allowances upwards due to the current economic challenges.
Executive secretary of the state scholarship board , Sa’adatu Yahaya said the board would adopt the use of verve cards to enable transparency and accountability.

The state government had previously completed the payment of the bursary for 2016 to 2020, and presently for 2021/2022.
The exercise will be done in the three Senatorial Zones of the state.
