Nigeria's Taiwo Awoniyi of Nottingham Forest

Super Eagles of Nigeria forward, Taiwo Awoniyi scored the solitary goal in Nottingham Forest one-nil defeat of Liverpool on Saturday at the City Ground in match day 11 fixture of the 2022-2023 English Premier League.

The 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup winner and former Liverpool player never featured for the Reds in his six-year spell at the club prompting him to leave in 2021.

The 25-year-old forward showed why the Reds should have given him a chance when he scored from close range to earn Nottingham a famous win which supporters of the Tricky Trees will cherish for a long time.

The result ensures that Forests are out of the relegation zone leaving Liverpool in search of their first away win of the campaign.

Elsewhere at Goodison Park, Alex Iwobi was the provider of two of Everton’s goals in their three-nil win over Crystal Palace.

The Super Eagles midfielder had set up Dominic Calvert Lewin and Dwight Mc Neil in between of Anthony Gordon’s 63-minute goal to help the Toffees defeat Crystal Palace three-nil.

At Etihad, Norwegian striker Erling Haaland cannot stop scoring. The 22-year-old took his tally to 17 goals with a brace as Manchester City defeated Brighton and Hove Albion three-one.
