The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN has introduce newly designed notes of Nigerian currency with circulation to begin on December 15, 2022
Old Naira notes will remain valid until January 31, 2023 when they will no longer be legal tender in Nigeria
All holders of old Naira notes are advised to start returning them immediately to their banks as deposits
CBN suspends all bank charges for cash deposits that exceed N500,000 to encourage holders of old Naira notes to return them to banks for issuance of new notes
