Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and his Osun state counterpart, Gboyega Oyetola have flagged off the reconstruction of the 91 Km Oshogbo, Iwo , Ibadan road for the overall benefit of residents in the two sister states.
Speaking at the flag off ceremony held in Oshogbo , Governor Makinde said the joint ceremony is a testament of the regional cooperation among states in the south west region of Nigeria as part of ongoing strategies to engineer good governance within the zone .
The Governors of Oyo and Osun are coming together, as they set aside party affiliations to put a permanent end to the hardship faced by motorists and other road users in the state.
The Commissioners for public works in Oyo and Osun states say the road project will be of economic importance to both states.
The project is expected to be completed within the next 18 months, and will link Ibadan, the Oyo state capital to Oshogbo, Osun state capital via different towns and villages including Iwo town.
