Coalition of Northern Groups

Ahead of the 2023 general election, Coalition of Northern Groups has called on Nigerians to desist from politics of sentiments and vote credible persons into various offices for the interest of the country.

The coalition made the call at a sensitisation and Awareness forum in Lafia, Nasarawa State.

Jamilu Aminu-Charanchi, National Coordinator of the coalition said the sensitisation became imperative to enlighten the masses on the need to make right choices during the forthcoming elections.

He said that a lot of desperate politicians who have nothing to offer are using the electioneering period to whip up ethnic and religious sentiments for their selfish interest.

Also speaking, Abubakar Suleiman, Nasarawa State Coordinator of the group and other participants at the forum noted that voting along ethnic and religious lines would not help the country, but advised the people to vote for credible persons irrespective of whatever differences.

They also advised Nigerians, especially the youths not to allow themselves to be used by politicians to truncate the transition to another government in 2023.

The event had in attendance Nasarawa residents from across the 13 Local Government Areas, of the state.
