The South-East Governors Forum has ended a meeting in Enugu, issuing a six-point communiqué that largely dealt on the worsening insecurity in the region.
Addressing Journalists at the forecourt of Lion Building of the Government House Enugu, Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi explains that economic activities in the region have come to a halt while “kidnapping and wanton killings” have become the order of the day.
The communiqué notes that the South-East Governors were planning to set up a 24-hour joint patrol team on all the major highways within the region.

On the current flooding in parts of the region, the meeting commended the efforts of the Federal Government in alleviating the sufferings of the victims.
The Forum said it is watching with keen interest the developments with respects to the court rulings on the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu.
The new Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo was attending the meeting for the first time, with three Governors of Enugu, Ebonyi and Abia, being physically present, while Imo and Anambra States were represented by the Deputy Governors.
