Four victims rescued from terrorists den in Zamfara State

The Police say its tactical operatives in collaboration with vigilante have repelled terrorists attacks in Bungudu, Bukkuyum, Gusau, Maru and Tsafe Local Government Areas of Zamfara State, North-West Nigeria.

A statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Superintendent Mohammed Shehu said between Friday, October 28 to Sunday, October 30, the police received intelligence report that terrorists planned to attack communities in five Local Government Areas of the State.

In another development, the Police and vigilante have also rescued four victims, including one-year old child.

The statement explained that the rescue of the victims was sequel to the report received by the Police on their abduction in which a search and rescue operation was carried out and they were successfully rescued unhurt.

It said, on October 14, terrorists in their large number invaded Kuraje village in Gusau Local Government Area and abducted four of the victims to Munhaye forest in Tsafe Local Government Area of the State, where they spent 15 days in captivity.

The rescued victims were taken to Police Clinic for medical check and have been reunited with their families.

The Commissioner of Police while reassuring the public on his Command’s commitment to restoring peace and security in the State, urges all and sundry to be security conscious and report suspicious movement to the Police or any other security Agency for prompt action.
