Delta state government has pledged to support the Nigerian Army in it’s quest to recruit more soldiers into it’s force
To achieve this, the government says it will sensitize Delta youths on the need to take part in the 84 regular recruitment exercise for trades and non-tradesmen and women into the Nigerian Army

Governor Okowa who made this pledge through the Secretary to the state government Patrick Ukah in Asaba when the Army Headquarters Team on Recruitment visited him said Delta is endowed with many vibrant strong men and women that are suited to serve in the army and it would be a thing of joy seeing them serve the nation
Earlier Leader of the team Major General Mohammed Jalo said their visit was to intimate the state government on the recruitment exercise which according to him was a constitutional responsibility for every state to fill its quota in the recruitment exercise.

Major General Jalo encouraged state governments to carry out sensitization campaign from where they stopped while the Army Headquarters he said observed some abnormalities in the yearly free recruitment exercise that commenced on the 10th of October and to end on the 2nd of December but has been marred by low turn out in some states including Delta
