2023 Election: INEC maps out sacked communities in Zamfara, to display Voters Register 12th November

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, says, it has mapped out communities that have been sacked by suspected terrorists in Zamfara State, in its preparation, ahead of the 2023 General Election.

The state’s Resident Electoral Commissioner, Professor Saidu Ahmad, disclosed this while briefing journalists in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital, over the planned display of voters register in the State from Saturday, 12th November.

The Independent National Electoral Commission wants registered voters to be at the commission’s State Office in Gusau and the Local Government offices from Saturday, 12th November, to check their data for the commission to effect corrections if there are omissions or commissions.

Professor Saidu Ahmad who is the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Zamfara State assured that the commission have planned to conduct an election for the Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, where they are currently seeking refuge, with a view not to disenfranchise any citizen.

He disclosed that the commission in the state has started receiving non-sensitive electoral materials, as part of efforts to ensure a smooth, free, credible and transparent 2023 General Election.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner for Zamfara State, Professor Ahmad, highlighted the areas where voters can raise objections including; underage voter registration, non-citizenship and for the dead.

The Zamfara State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Professor Saidu Ahmad, said the commission had cleaned up the voter’s register, and will only display those who do not have double registrations in the state.
