The Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has promised to rapidly and fully develop Nigeria’s mineral sector if elected as president come 2023.

Tinubu, made the promise while engaging miners, heads of security and captains of industry during a town hall meeting with key players in Lafia the Nasarawa state capital.

Tagged as the home of solid minerals, Nasarawa state is already getting attention with the hope of reaping more benefits from its natural endorsement.

Former Lagos State governor and APC presidential candidate Bola Tinubu told the gathering of his plan to prioritise the nation’s solid mineral sector, as the nation is richly blessed and will not depend only on one resource.

Nasarawa State Governor, the host Abdullahi Sule said Tinubu’s engagement with the mining community provides more opportunities not just for them but Nigerians at large.

The National Chairman of APC, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, Governor Simon Lalong and senator Tanko Almakura said untapped natural resources due to insecurity caused by illegal miners will be addressed.

They added that the sector when properly positioned will contribute more to building the nation’s GDP.
