NYSC DG inspects Quarter Guard on arrival at Katsina State Orientation Camp

Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Brigadier-General Muhammed Fadah has charged youth corps members to always be ready to sacrifice their lives for the unity and development of the country.

Fadah who made the call when he visited both the Katsina and Borno States Orientation Camps for the ongoing 2022 Batch C Stream One compulsory orientation exercise said, it is time that the loyalty of youth corps members to the country, is highly tested rather than them indulging in negativity.

The NYSC Director-General while addressing the 1,032 youth corps members deployed to Katsina state, informed them that the core mandate of the scheme is for national integration and to bring about unity therefore, they should be ready to sacrifice for the country.

Fadah further cautioned the Corps members against the use of social media for negativity and sharing of unverified information. He also warned them against night journeys, indulging in cultism and corruption especially as the 2023 general elections draw closer.

While urging the youth corps members to take their own personal security seriously despite all the arrangements made for the camp, Fadah also advised them to take seriously the skills acquisition programme as the era of white-collar jobs, is gone.

The Katsina State coordinator of the scheme, Aisha Muhammed informed the NYSC DG that all is going well in the camp especially the health of the corps members as, no major illness has been recorded so far, except for Malaria and general weaknesses in the body due to the change in weather condition.

She further revealed that as of the moment, none of the 1,032 corps members comprising 562 males and 470 females, has tested positive for Covid-19
