The Nigerian Government has confirmed a request from Canada for 260 qualified teachers, following a commendation passed on the quality of the country’s education.
This was made known by the Registrar of the Teacher’s Registration Council, Professor Olusegun Ajiboye, at a conference in Abuja, on the state of Nigerian Education.
The Registrar of the National Examination Council, NECO, Dantani Wushishi, also revealed 490 requests from over fifty countries, to authenticate its certificates.
The ‘Japa’ fever sweeping across Nigeria, has forced thousands of citizens to abandon their studies and jobs in most cases, and travel to Europe, the UK and the United States of America, in search of supposedly better education and livelihood.

Despite this seemingly obvious reality, the Registrar of the Teacher’s Registration Council of Nigeria, Professor Olusegun Ajiboye, insists the quality of Nigeria’s Education remains intact.
The conference which was put together by the Ministry Of Education And Education Correspondents Association Of Nigeria is expected to present a communique to the Federal government of Nigeria.
