The need to amend the Nigerian Constitution and introduce a unicameral legislature that will unbundle Nigeria’s anticipated accelerated development through restructuring has been advocated.
Famous Human Rights and Constitutional Lawyer, Mike Ozekhome, SAN, the immediate past Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mike Igini and former Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, made this known during the 2022 Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ Media Week in Calabar.

The Guest Speakers said, the challenges of insecurity, huge recurrent expenditures and electoral frauds, can only be reduced if the membership of the parliaments is on a part-time basis, and there is a restructuring of the country, where the Nigerian media is expected to play a significant role.
Governor Ben Ayade and the Chairman of the NUJ in Cross River State, challenged journalists on patriotic reportage, saying indivisible Nigeria is non-negotiable.
The speakers who presented papers on the theme of, “Media Week 2023 And The Nigerian Project; The Role Of The Media,” said journalists will play a bigger role to see the expected change needed in the country from 2023.
