Federal High Court

A suit challenging the candidacy of Bola Ahmed -Tinubu as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has been dismissed by the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Justice Fadima Murtala who dismissed the suit on grounds that the plaintiff, Ngozika Ihuoma has no locus standi to institute the suit, tagged Iheoma as a meddlesome interloper.

Ihuoma had on June 9th , 2022 instituted the suit challenging Tinubu and five others after the former Lagos State Governor won the APC presidential primary election.

He sought six reliefs, among which, that INEC should bar Tinubu from contesting the 2023 presidential election.

The APC counsel, while describing the suit as an abuse of court process, in a counter affidavit emphasized that Ihuoma lacks locus to institute the action that it is an internal affairs of political party.

Justice Murtala without wasting time dismissed the suit for lacking locus.

The suit is however the fourth to be dismissed by the courts recently for lacking in merit and abuse of court processes.
