Fuel scarcity in Jos, the Plateau State capital, has continued to bite harder, with motorists complaining of spending days at filling stations, without getting the product, which has led to a hike in transportation fares.
AIT crew went around some filling stations to monitor the availability of the product.
Even with the directive by Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, NUPENG, calling on its members to ensure adequate supply of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, the majority of stations within the state capital are not dispensing the product, making life unbearable for motorists who have to spend hours in search of the product.
Another disturbing issue is the hike in price at the black market, which has forced commercial operators to also increase the transport fare, a situation many are not happy with.
Residents have expressed fears that in the days ahead, the commodity may not be accessible, considering that it is that time of the year when people travel a lot.
They call on those responsible, to address the situation to end the hardship.
