A Civil Society Organisation in Nigeria, the International Society for Civil Liberties, InterSociety has raised the alarm of alleged plots to compromise the coming 2023 Presidential elections, claiming it has unmasked twelve major polls rigging States to watch in the country.
Leader of the group, Emeka Umeagbalasi at a Media briefing in Enugu, South East Nigeria on Christmas day, says details of the alleged plots are contained in its special investigative report on next year’s general elections.
Umeagbalasi is accusing the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC of complicity in the exposed rigging plans, alleging that the electoral umpire was using what he termed, “different segregating and discriminating technicalities” to disenfranchise over 77.7 million registered and unregistered eligible voters.

Another rigging plan according to InterSociety is the alleged likelihood of ghost voters comprising about 18 million dead registered voters, underage children, and fake and stolen identities, among others.
The International Society for Civil Societies is frowning at the poor system in the distribution of Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs, arguing that INEC is playing with the future of the country and Nigerians, especially its collective, security and corporate existence.
The Civil Society Organisation is calling for the immediate and unconditional release of the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu from the custody of the Nigerian secret police, the State Security Services, SSS in what it says, is in the interest of peace and security of the South East region, ahead of the 2023 polls.
