New Director-General of Labour Party Presidential Campaign Council, Akin Osuntokun

Labour Party has replaced Doyin Okupe with Akin Osuntokun as Director-General of its Presidential Campaign Council.

This follows the resignation of the former Director-General, Doyin Okupe after he was convicted of money laundering by the Federal High Court in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

The new Director-General, Akin Osuntokun is a Nigerian political scientist, strategist, researcher, administrator, journalist and writer, with experience in media advocacy, policy research and implementation and political analysis.

Meanwhile, the party’s Presidential candidate, Peter Obi has expressed shock over what he describes as the mindless killing of Bolanle Raheem by a trigger-happy policeman on a Christmas day in Lagos State, South-West Nigeria.

He said he is pained over her death and several others killed across the country. He expressed worry over the increased number of attacks and killings of innocent Nigerians.

Obi was speaking at an emergency meeting in Abuja where the party announced its new Director-General of the Presidential Campaign Council.

The party at the meeting also discussed its successes and challenges during campaigns in the past weeks with strategies for future rallies.
