A Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Raymond Dokpesi and other leaders in Edo North have begun moves to resolve differences and reconcile members of the State chapter of the party as they meet with some leaders in Edo North.

The reconciliatory move, according to the leaders, is aimed at dousing rising tensions and supporting the Atiku Presidential movement to win his presidential bid come 2023.
The first port of call was the residence of a member of the Atiku campaign organisation, Henry Tenebe at Ikabigbo in Etsako West local government area and later the residence of seventy-five-year-old Kasimu Ozeto in Ivbiaro, Owan East where fruitful reconciliatory deliberations were held.

Dokpesi and his team later proceeded to Okpella in Etsako East to meet with leaders of the four wards of Okpella including Kayode Ajay, Barrister Abbas Jega and Segun Balogun
The main agenda was the reconciliation of members and soliciting their cooperation to make the election of Atiku a success.

The leaders promised to unite and work towards electing Atiku Abubakar as president, noting the electoral relevance of the various wards in Okpella.
Barrister Abbas Jega says the presidential ticket was for PDP but the crisis in the party needs to be resolved.

Raymond Dokpesi commended the leaders for their steadfastness, also noting the neglect of Okpella over the years despite the economic viability of its communities.
He says he was part of the Atiku project and needed the blessings of Okpella leaders for him to succeed in his presidential bid.

The message for the people of Weppa Wanno was also similar to the other communities visited.
The Party leaders called for synergy that will give victory to all PDP candidates in the state.

The final movement of the Dokpesi reconciliation team was to the country home of the National vice chairman South-South PDP Dan Orbih where a congregation of party faithful gathered to celebrate Christmas.
The party leaders were optimistic about a lasting resolution to the crisis but solicited the cooperation of all the leaders to achieve this.

The reconciliatory team was also at Anioma in Delta state to visit the vice presidential candidate and governor of Delta State Ifeanyi Okowa at his private residence where they had a closed-door meeting.
