Delta state Commissioner for Information and spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organization, Charles Aniagwu says in the present day politics, ultimate power to elect leaders lies with the people and far from being the decision of any leader.

Aniagwu was reacting to the repeated chants of Atiku the Presidential flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party at the flag-off campaign for the reelection of one of the G-5 governors, Governor Makinde in Ibadan at a news conference in Asaba.

He said the development proved that era of leaders deciding who to be voted for has gone as sovereignty lies with the people.

Aniagwu said hence politics is a game of number, the Peoples Democratic Party will not get tired of trying to woo the G-5 governors to sheath their sword and join the main fold of the party for the actualization of the mission of recovery and rebuilding Nigeria.

According to Aniagwu,  the event that played out at Ibadan where majority of the people were chanting Atiku showed that Atiku Abubakar and his running mate Ifeanyi Okowa were the Peoples choice for the rescue and rebuild Nigeria from the ruins of the APC led Federal government.

On the endorsement of the Labour Party Presidential Candidate by former President Olusegun Obasanjo and elder statesman Chief Edwin Clark, Aniagwu said since democracy offers freedom of expression, the party do not begrudge anybody for exercising his or her civic right.

Aniagwu concludes that the doors are still open for any of the Presidential candidates who may wish to step down for Atiku Abubakar as the party, he said has promised an all inclusive government whereby every interests will be accommodated.
