Cross River Education: State Govt sanctions 18 school principals over illegal levies collection

No fewer than eighteen secondary school Principals have been sanctioned by the Cross River State Government Over collection of illegal Levies and other misconducts.

Of these eighteen, twelve were removed and six suspended after due investigations and confirmation of their illegal acts.

Commissioner for Quality Education in Cross River State, Godwin Amanke, disclosed this to newsmen during a weekly media ministerial Briefing in Calabar.

He warned Teachers in Various public and private schools to align with the state Government policy or face the full wrath of the law.

On his part, the Commissioner for Rural Transformation, Effiom Okokon, said his ministry has done 39.3km rural roads out of which 19.2km are completed and tarred across the state.

On his part, the Commissioner for Rural Transformation, Edem Effiong Okokon, said some rural roads had been fixed, while several solar powered boreholes have been sunk in Obudu, Obanliku, Bekwarra and Yala, to ameliorate the acute potable water shortage suffered by the people in these areas.

The media briefing was orginised by the Ministry of Information and Orientation, for Ministries Departments and Agencies, MDAs, to present their scorecards.
