Deputy Mayor of Jerusalem, Fleur Hassan-Nahoum

The Deputy Mayor of Jerusalem, Fleur Hassan-Nahoum, has called for more support for women vying for political office.

Fleur Hassan-Nahoum said this in Jerusalem in an interview with AIT Diplomatic correspondent Sadiyat Dosunmu.

The deputy mayor says women are critical decision makers and peacebuilding advocates and must be given a place in decision making.
.
She added that women should build networks for women to support each other and be good mentors to young girls.

She announced that she has co-founded a number of women initiatives because she believes that if women are allowed to take the reigns in peacebuilding in the Middle East, there would be peace.

Hassan-Nahoum also urged the men to support women, commending the Mayor of Jerusalem, who has been very supportive to her.
