Political parties and leaders in Enugu State, South East Nigeria have committed to terms to work towards a peaceful conduct of the 2023 general elections in the State.
The political leaders made the declaration at an event marking the signing of the Peace Accord between them, in which they also agreed to accept the outcome of the polls as would be announced by the electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Enugu Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Ammani, and other stakeholders who witnessed the signing of the Peace Accord expressed satisfaction with the terms of the agreement, using the occasion to urge eligible voters in the State to go out and vote during election days without fear of intimidation.

Representatives of political parties fielding candidates in the 2023 general elections, security agencies, traditional rulers, and religious leaders were part of the event.
