The joint security Operation, code-named Operation Akpaku has neutralized an alleged notorious student cultist and armed robbers who have been on the wanted list of the security agencies in Cross River State.

Popularly known by the pseudo name, “Valley” whose real name is Austin Norwich Kingsley according to a statement signed by the permanent secretary of state security, Dr. Alfred Mboto, has been a notorious cultist, armed robber, and kidnapper who has been on the wanted list of security agents for a long time.

The statement said Valley was on a mission to commit a heinous crime in the institution when he was intercepted by the State government-owned joint security Operation team code-named “Operation Akpakwu”, while on patrol.

On sighting the joint security team, Valley opened fire on the operatives who returned with superior firepower. In the ensuing exchange, he was gunned down.

“The attention of Cross River State Government has been drawn to misleading reports in some national dailies and social media platforms alleging that the Department Of State Services DSS, shot to death a Student of the University of Cross River, UNICROSS, within the school premises on February 9th,2023.

“This clarification becomes necessary so as to put a lie to the allegation that DSS operatives wholly neutralized valley.

“For the avoidance of doubt, Operation Akpakwu is comprised of the police, Army, Airforce, DSS, and Civil Defence operatives.

“We wish to, therefore, urge the general public to disregard the deliberate misinformation aimed at impinging on the integrity of the DSS’ the statement added.
