A Coalition of Civil Society groups, CSOs, have taken to major streets along the Ikeja axis of Lagos state to protest over what they described as the continued disobedience of court orders by the chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa.
The group comprising over one hundred CSOs and thousands of their members and supporters with placards bearing various inscriptions marched through the streets where their leaders spoke to journalists present.

They explained that the continued disobedience of court orders by Bawa violates the rule of law and Nigeria’s democracy at large.
According to them, the fixation of the EFCC boss on some individuals and organizations when grievous petitions capable of bringing the economy down are left unattended gives the anti-corruption war under the leadership of Bawa, a bad impression.
Meanwhile, EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren could not react to the allegations raised as messages and calls sent to his line were not answered.
The angry protesters who began what they described as a week-long protest against the politicization of the EFCC, disobedience of court orders, and infringement on the human rights of Nigerians have vowed to continue with their agitations.
