Barely two weeks after the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Imo State lost the governorship position to the All Progressives Congress, APC, at the Supreme Court, the State Party Chairman, Charles Ezekwem, has resigned his position and membership of the party.
This was contained in a two-paragraph letter addressed to the National Chairman of the party, Uche Secondus.

According to him, the decision was taken after due consultation with his family and teaming supporters. He said that the decision to resign is predicated on the prevailing circumstances within the party in the state.
He, however, expressed his gratitude to the teeming supporters of the PDP in Imo State for the opportunity given him to serve.
