The African Action Congress, AAC, is asking President Bola Tinubu to approve the use of the Presidential Villa for its Presidential Campaign Council inauguration.
The Party said in Abuja on Tuesday that if the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC can hold its own inauguration at Aso Rock, other parties should enjoy the same privilege.
In a Press statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Rex Elanu, the AAC said it has formally written to President Tinubu requesting to inaugurate its Campaign Council at the Villa on November 11th, 2026, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Party referenced reports that the Nigerian ruling APC inaugurated its Campaign Council at Aso Rock, using State resources.
According to the AAC, public institutions and national resources should not be exclusive to the ruling party, and what it describes as double standards cannot help democracy to thrive in the country.
The AAC also requested that food, drinks and logistical support be provided for its participants, consistent with what it claims was extended to the APC.
It added that the President’s response will show whether his administration believes in equal treatment.
The Presidency is yet to respond to the request.
