The former Chairman of the defunct Pension Reform Task Team (PRTT), Abdulrasheed Maina, has urged the Abuja Federal High Court, for an interim order, directing the Minister of Interior and the Comptroller General of the Nigerian Correctional Service, to immediately take him to a reputable and recognised hospital for treatment.
Maina who is currently serving a jail term in Kuje Correctional Facility, says he is suffering from a life-threatening disease and needs urgent medical attention.

According to a 10-ground application on why the motion should be granted, Maina said failure to treat the diseases/sicknesses has led to the deterioration of his health.
The motion ex-parte filed by his lawyer, states that Maina is in a critical health condition and that it is in the interest of justice to grant his prayer.
Justice Inyang Ekwo granted leave for Maina to effect service of the order and other processes on the Minister of the Interior, through any member of staff of the Ministry in Abuja.
He has also directed that all processes for the Comptroller General, be delivered to any officer of the Correctional Services Centre, at the Headquarters in Abuja.
Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court had, on November 8, 2021, convicted and sentenced Maina to eight years imprisonment for misappropriation of pension funds, to the tune of 2 billion Naira while serving as Chairman of PRTT.
