The production of leather and garments in Aba, the commercial nerve center of Abia State, South East Nigeria will soon receive another boost, as the State
Government embarks on the construction of an industrial cluster for the artisans.
To ensure this, a Memorandum of Understanding, MOU, between the State government and a private developer, has been signed for the construction of fifteen thousand shops for artisans at the cluster in Aba.
At the signing ceremony, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Industry, Cletus Mba, observed that the leather and garment industrial cluster, will further boost the production of made in Aba goods and by extension, Nigeria’s economy.

He said that the State govt will put in resources and attention, to develop the Aba leather and garment sub-sector to international standards in order to create jobs and eliminate unemployment in the State.
