The Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu has called on security agencies in the state to assist the government in enforcing the Anti-Open Grazing law of Abia state.
The Governor who made the call in Umuahia, while flagging-off the statewide sensitization workshop against criminal activities in Abia communities, observed that enforcing the law will help reduce the issue of farmers/herders clashes in the state.
Represented by his Deputy, Ude Oko Chukwu, Governor Ikpeazu requested the cooperation of stakeholders to ensure the government fights and wins the war against criminality in the state.

In a keynote address, the coordinator of the workshop and Chief of Staff to the Governor, Anthony Agbazuere, noted that the primary responsibility of any government is the welfare and security of the people, hence the need to enlighten the people on how best to report criminal activities.
He hinted that the sensitization workshop against criminal activities in Abia state will be held subsequently in the seventeen local government areas of the state.
