The Abia State House of Assembly says there is no plan to impeach Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.
Addressing the media after meeting with Governor Ikpeazu at the Governor’s Lodge in Aba, members of the State House of Assembly led by the Deputy Speaker, Ifeanyi Uchendu dismissed the rumour making the rounds in the social media on the planned impeachment of the Governor.
Also the Majority Leader of the Assembly, Solomon Akpulonu and the Minority Leader, Chukwu Chijioke described the rumour as a figment of the imagination of it purveyors.
While also describing the rumour as a blatant lie from the pit of hell, the lawmakers said that the Assembly is yet to even reconvene after the election recess and wondered why such rumours should be receiving attention.

The legislators commended the Governor who they observed has done well in the State adding that the Assembly is happy with him, hence there is no need for any impeachment.
The members of the Abia State House of Assembly numbering 13 further urged the people of the State to disregard the unfounded rumour while assuring that they will sustain their support for Governor Ikpeazu to enable him to complete his tenure successfully.
