Professor Ahmed says students must not submit AI-generated work as their own, adding that the university is developing mechanisms to identify such submissions.
He urged them to use the technology to support research and learning without surrendering independent thought and originality.
Provost of the Postgraduate College, Professor Oluyinka Okubanjo, says the institution wants students to develop the capacity to use research, innovation and technology to address real problems confronting society.
For the university, embracing artificial intelligence must go hand in hand with originality, independent thinking and academic responsibility.
