Acting Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa has called on politicians in the state to put the recent crisis behind them by building a shared future from a divided past.
Aiyedatiwa’s comments come a day after the State House of Assembly confirmed receiving a letter from Governor Rotimi Akeredolu to proceed on another medical leave thereby paving way for Aiyedatiwa to be declared acting governor.
The Acting Governor in a state broadcast on Thursday which marked his official assumption of office, said the intrigues that took place during Governor Akeredolu’s health challenges were avoidable distractions.
He stressed the need for the state’s quick return to the path of progress that has eluded the State in recent months.
Aiyedatiwa said the state needs renewed unity to bring about the development envisioned and pursued by Governor Akeredolu before he took ill.
